PhD, Chemical Biology

Professor at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais

Education:

  1. Adriana recently completed her Ph.D. (Chemical Biology, 2017) in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at McMaster. She obtained her M.Sc. (Analytical Chemistry, 2012) in the São Carlos Institute of Chemistry at University of São Paulo, Brazil, and her License Degree (Chemistry, 2010) in the Department of Chemistry at Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil.

Biography:

Research Interests

Adriana’s PhD research involved two main themes: (1) the development and validation of novel analytical methods for reliable measurement of inorganic anions in human biofluids, based on capillary electrophoresis with UV detection (CE-UV) for clinical and epidemiological applications; and (2) the characterization of the polar/ionic metabolome in sweat from infants and identification of metabolites associated to cystic fibrosis in pre-symptomatic infants, using multisegment injection-capillary electrophoresis-mass spectrometry (MSI-CE-MS).

Dr. Adriana Nori de Macedo is currently an assistant professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
